Fall Festivals

Over the past few days we have been trying to get our money's worth out of our costumes. I bought them Bogo at Target and paid $17.00 total for both. I thought it was a good deal since all the costumes I saw at Toys R Us were $35.00 a piece or more.

On Wednesday we went to the library for games and candy.

Here is Son playing the fishing game that I first saw on Polyanna the movie. One of my favorite movies by the way!

He got a sticky slimy stretchy something or other:

Princess collected the candy. The library employees were dressed as storybook characters and were hidden in the aisles:

I have been waiting to meet Mother Goose my entire life. If I run into the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe anytime soon.... My childhood dreams will be fulfilled:

Here is Son rockin a Mohawk before he got his hair cut:

We bobbed for apples on Wednesday too. No one could really catch one, but it was still fun:

Thursday we went to Trunk or Treat at a local church. Here is Princess staring down a candy hander-outer. He said he wouldn't give her candy til she smiled:

She stared him down, never smiled and  STILL scored her candy! Don't mess with a Princess!!!!!!!! YOU WILL LOSE!

Today we went to IHOP for our free Scary Faced Pancakes:

And then got ready for the Fall Fest at our church.

Mickey and Minnie were there:

They played games:

Pet animals:

Found the greatest bunny in the history of bunnihood:

Bounced in bounce houses. They had 9 or 10 different ones, so hardly any waiting in line:

Then we watched a helicopter land:

And took it for a spin. Princess's flying lessons are paying off:

We also saw Olaf from Frozen:

And rode a hayride:

The costume of the year was by far the Frozen Princess. I think 1 out of every 5 girls wore that costume. The most unique costume we saw was a boy covered in eyeballs with a sign that said "I'll be watching you". I couldn't figure out if he was supposed to be a monster, a stalker, or Sting.

At this moment I am exhausted and my babies have fallen asleep with sticky candy faces. I suppose that means they had a pretty good day.

Goodnight.

Beauty and the Train Conductor

Son went for his second haircut yesterday and his sister hasn't even had her first yet.

We went to Kidz Cuts in Saint Augustine and it was awesome. They had fun toys everywhere, the staff did everything they could to make sure the kids were happy and they even gave my hair a trim!

Son was originally sitting in this fun train engine, but he spotted his sister riding around the store on a motorized Thomas and he took a fit, which is why this photo is blurred. He was jumping up and down in the seat:

So Princess got booted off of Thomas and Son sat nicely for the rest of his haircut:

Here is his final look:

After getting kicked off of Thomas, Princess got her nails done in purple sparkles:

She also got a pretty braid in her hair with glitter:

Here's her final look:

Decorating Pumpkins

We chose pumpkins at the pumpkin patch on Friday and I considered painting them, but fear set in....at least for Son's pumpkin. So at Target we found some pumpkin kits.

Son got ninja turtles and can take his pumpkin apart and put it together as much as he likes.

He's so proud:

Princess got an M&M pumpkin kit, but we had to paint it first. Thank goodness Son was asleep because the paint that came with it was not washable and we still have a bit of paint on her hands. The damage that boy could have done with non-washable paint....I can't begin to imagine:

So here she is with the finished product:

Caramel Apples

I saw a caramel apple kit at Target today and thought it would be a fun and of course, messy activity for fall.

Son loves apples, so he got started eating before I even had the caramel on them.

He was really excited about this and couldn't wait to put eyes on the apples:

Princess was all about adding the sprinkles:

We used icing to add smiles and eyebrows:

Son spent 30 minutes decorating with the icing:

While he did that, his sister rapidly ate sprinkles until I told her to stop:

He are the final apple faces:

Son got the first taste:

Meanwhile I found Princess in her room secretly eating the sprinkles:

Son was loving the caramel:

Princess found another way to "legally" eat sprinkles:

And then I spent an hour cleaning up the mess.

The end.

Air Show

Our family went to the NAS Jax air show on Saturday. The babies both share a love of airplanes with their Daddy, especially Princess, so they were all very excited.

In the Chinook:

We waited in a very long line to go into a bounce house and the babies made some friends:

Sis looking like she is headed to Coachella:

Princess enjoyed the blimp:
