Happy 90th Birthday Gram

A few days ago my grandmother celebrated her 90thbirthday. That's pretty awesome...turning 90.

I need to call her more than I do. She's lonely. Many of her family and friends have died. Besides, every time I call her she gives me some useful tips. I am sure this is because she loves reading the newspaper.

Last time I talked to her she told me that mushrooms fight cancer...good to know.

A few months ago I thought she was being funny when she mentioned that missions to space cause big snow storms. I laughed it off, but sure enough I was watching the news a few days later and the top two stories were a shuttle launch...and a snow storm.....

Does NASA know about this?

Anyway, my grandmother is a cool lady. She always keeps a good attitude and even though its hard for her to write, she manages to send a card for most holidays...sometimes with a 2 dollar bill!

Love you Gram.

Precious Picture

Walked into the play area to see Princess had set up blankets for her and Gizmo...and she was reading him a story. Ahhhhh....

Garden Concert and Storytime

Last week I set up an outdoor reading and music area for the babies to play. Of course I waited until it got hot outside to actually take them out there.
Boss bought me some tree stumps at Home Depot, but we also picked up a bunch during Christmas that I am going to use later.

I also added some instruments, a basket of books and some large pinecones we collected last year:

I bought TONS of these HUGE books a while back from a teacher who was destashing. It was mostly K-2nd grade and I still "find" things that I got from her that I didn't know I had.

The Farm Concert is one of our favorite big books:

Princess playing her instruments:

These two are always wearing hats. I don't know why they love it so much:

Princess and Gizmo had a good time playing together:

I bought the windchimes from the Dollar Tree. They are kind of terrible wind chimes because they don't exactly chime. The babies had a great time pulling them and hitting them with sticks, so they did the trick for the day, but I have to get some wind chimes that actually CHIME:

How to be Awesome

The Day Before Being Awesome:

1. Buy some chia seeds. You can buy these at Whole Foods or any health food store or online.

2. Buy some bananas and raspberries/ strawberries.

3. Buy coconut water. This is sold in most grocery stores in the water aisle or near the fruits and veggies in the cooler.

The Night Before Being Awesome:

1. Peel 2 bananas and put them in a zip lock in the freezer.

2. Put 3 TBS. Of chia seeds in 1 cup of coconut water. Stir or shake. Stir or shake every 15 minutes for 1 hour and let it in the fridge over night.

3. Go to sleep.

The Day of Awesomeness Has Come!!!!!!

1. Put the bananas and 1/2 cup of raspberries or strawberries into a blender. Dump in the chia liquid.

2. Add 1 tsp of vanilla and 1/2 TBS of agave or good maple syrup or Nothing if you don't have either.

3. Blend until the mixture resembles ice cream texture.

4. Eat your raw chia ice cream for breakfast and BE AWESOME for the rest of the day:

In Memory of Grandpa

Princess likes to sit on her Grandpa's boat lately.

Here she is during her first ride:

And Sis. This was September 2012:

Here is Boss riding just a few months ago behind our house. I took this photo from the back yard:

We miss you Grandpa:

Easter

We went to church yesterday and afterwards they had a petting zoo and some rides. The lines were very very long, so we just stayed for a short time. We opened baskets the day before Easter.
Most of the photos that I took of our baskets were blurry, but here are the photos that turned out.

Egg Hunting

We had a fun Easter egg hunt today with great weather.

I have been complaining a lot about the weather lately...saying its either too hot or too cold. So I am here to say that 70 degrees is perfect weather and I am so grateful for that blessing today.

Onto the egg hunt....

We first got our picture with a pink Easter bunny. Son doesn't like pink so he wasn't a fan of this particular bunny:

They had their game faces on before the hunt. Here they are scoping out the eggs:

Son scored 2 eggs and was done:

Look at this hat. So cute:

Princess loved her eggs so much she had to kiss them:

She was picking up her brother's slack. She got a bunch of eggs:
And was happy happy happy:

Windy Day

It was so windy today that I wished we could fly a kite. We have a kite, but I couldn't find it, so  I had the idea to hang our big parachute from a rope. It blew up and down and Princess had so much fun waiting for the wind to pick it up. You could use large bedsheets to do this too. Our parachute has been so much fun for us. They have a nice and affordable one on www.fatbraintoys.com.
