We are studying USA geography this whole summer and we are also studying American symbols. So today we headed off to the home of Mary Pickersgill to learn the story of the flag she made which inspired the writing of our national anthem!!!!
Then off to Ft McHenry to see where Mary’s flag was actually flown and where the Star Spangled Banner was written:
