30 Days of Summer Day 18

It’s 9:05 pm. I’m tired. I have a headache. A bad one. I am not at home in my bed writing this as I’m about to fall asleep as usual.

I am here:


At the lake watching Captain Underpants. And although I am tired as I mentioned ( 3 hrs sleep two nights in a row)... I’m glad I’m here.

My kids are on blankets eating snacks. They are all here. All happy. And that’s the way I like things. I just love being with them and if I have to run myself ragged to give them the best life I can,  I will. They’ll never remember any of this. I know because I remember so little of my childhood. I’m not doing this so they remember though, I’m doing it for—- today. The happiness....today. The fun today. The laughs today. 

Sometimes today is all you have. Trying to make the best of each day is our job... whatever that means to you.
