What kind of pirates would my kids be if they didn't search for real treasure? So I went to a local park and hid something for them to find. I marked the spot with a big" can't-miss-it-if-you-tried" "X" that I cut out of poster board!!
Son fell asleep in the car, so he missed the whole thing. Don't worry, Sister was with him!!
Off to find the treasure:
Did I make it too difficult to find?
NOPE!!! Princess was so excited when she spotted the "X".
She didn't want to dig for it, though. She wanted to find more X's. I can't believe I thought one "X" would be sufficient!
She finally uncovered the treasure:
In my world this is treasure, but some people might see it as a bunch of junk collected from around the house and random yardsales:
But not a pirate!!! They know real treasure when they see it:
Back to the ship we go!
