Cannon Ball Letter Recognition

CANNON BALLLLLLLL!!!!!

Today we practiced letter recognition with cannon balls. I bought a pack of black balloons at the Dollar Tree and filled them up with water!!!

Then I wrote the word PIRATES on the driveway with sidewalk chalk.

When I called out a letter, Princess was supposed to smash the balloon on that letter!

Problem!!!! The balloons were VERY hard to smash. So she ended up placing the cannon ball on the letter and when she got it right, I smashed it for her. 

Son just wanted to carry his cannon ball around the yard...

 When we completed all the letters, we decided to get the hose out because IT WAS SO HOT OUTSIDE!!!!! Even at 9am!

There was a fight over the hose...typical pirates.

Princess  got soaked....

Easy to see who won the battle!

What we are reading:

Each night we read a book that has to do with our theme. Last night we read a book worth mentioning because it was kind of funny and disturbing at the same time.

Its about a pirate who steals people's socks and another pirate that steals people's underwear.

Very strange....
