Fine Motor Skills

The Princess has a few activities that she loves to do which enhance fine motor skills.

Here she is putting sticks into the slots of a McCormick spice container (Red Pepper Flakes to be exact). The sticks are actually bamboo skewers that I cut so each end is dull.



Sometimes she holds the container and sometimes she sits it on the floor, which is a lot harder.



Here is another similar example. I just cut holes in the top of an oatmeal container and The Princess pushes Pom Poms in the holes. I give her about 20 Pom Poms and she brings it to me when she is done. I just take them out and she does it again. She will do this 3 or 4 times in a row and I like it because she can do it without my help.
