End of Week Dessert (or A= AWESOME)

I should be ashamed of myself.

Two babies in less than 2 years has left me a few pounds to lose ( In my world "a few" = 25).

ANYWAY...it was the end of "A" week around here and I decided to finish it off with an A dessert and let me tell you....THIS IS THE BEST "A" DESSERT ON THE PLANET!!!!

It might be THE best ANY LETTER dessert on the planet, but I don't want to claim that right now because my mind might be clouded by the OOEY GOOEY AWESOMENESS that I am currently staring at.

So here it is:

What is this you ask?

Apple Dumplings.

I got this recipe from The Pioneer Woman.

(Theses are The Pioneer Woman's Photos...)

SECRET INGREDIENT????

MOUNTAIN DEW....what what.

I am not kidding when I tell you that I don't like appley stuff and neither does The Boss OR Sister, but we all agree that this AINT YO MAMA'S Apple anything.

Brownies WISH they were this good.

SIGH...

I am reluctant to share this recipe because I plan on serving it the next 1000 times I have guests in my house.

I want them to think that I slaved all day in the kitchen.

And that I am a great cook and there is no way they could possibly recreate this deliciousness in their own home BUT....

The truth is that this is so easy to make. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE to mess up and I would feel completely selfish if I did not share this ticket to food heaven.

Thank you Pioneer Woman for being my 'I need to lose a few pounds, but today ain't the day' hero.

So here is the recipe:

Ingredients
  • 2 whole Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 cans (8 Oz. Cans) Crescent Rolls
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 1-1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Cinnamon, To Taste
  • 1 can (12 Oz.) Mountain Dew Soda

Preparation Instructions

Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan.
Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

WARNING: Prepare this dish at your own risk. It is beyond imaginable
